It is better 

to be an honest devil 

than a pretentious angel 

for I found myself 

to be more of a 

shackled sinner 

than a discerning disciple 

but even in rebellion 

it’s a tragedy 

that we’ve made 

your person an idol 

and have given

no thought 

to the power of 

your Love.
